Vicky L. Rowley

Vicky L. Rowley, 53, of Janesville died Sunday morning at her home in the loving arms of her family after a courageous 5 year battle with breast cancer. She was born December 1, 1956 in Janesville, the daughter of Emil and Mary (Schuster) Blaser. Vicky was a life long resident of Janesville. She married her high school sweetheart, Patrick J. Rowley on December 14, 1974 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Vicky was employed by Rock County Health Care Center and Rock Haven as a nurse retiring in 2006 following her breast cancer diagnosis. Vicky was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and a founding member of the Rock County 4-H horse and pony project. Vicky loved quilting, riding her horses, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick; 2 daughters, Heather Rowley and Carey Rowley (Nick Speer), a son, Christopher Rowley, a granddaughter, Allison Funk, a sister-in-law, Patricia (Charles) Camp of Gordon, WI, 2 brothers-in-law, John (Vi) Rowley and David (Helleen) Rowley all of Janesville, many nieces and nephews including special nieces, Dawn (Mike) Pierce and Karen Camp. She was preceded in death by her parents.Services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Deacon John Houseman will preside.“The family would like to give a special thanks to the “angels” of Mercy oncology and the “angels” of HospiceCare, Inc. including Dr. Green. The family would also like to give a special thank you and show our appreciation to a dear friend from beginning to end, Sherri Gorman, for being the best friend to Vicky and the entire family.
